The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mildred Martin can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Aunt Mildred: What a wonderful person you are! You were there for me and our family in all my life, a very unselfish person who helped all of us. You are one great missionary for the whole family.. It started for me when I was very young and Easter Sunday when we stayed at your home in Alamosa. We woke up to an Easter basket, something I had never seen before. Then later on in our life my sister, brother and I were placed in foster homes and an orphanage for some time, in another city and we went through heck! When you found where we were you came and took us out of there! Being the strong person you are you just took us, sitting on the court house steps until you got us out of there. To this day I can not remember how we got here. You took my sister in, Aunt Clara took my brother and Aunt Floss took me. After a short time your sister, my Mother, got to have all of us together again. That was strange! We hadn’t seen each other for some time and had to get to know each other again. Later on I was in the Sunday school presidency and we visited different classes. I would always make it a point to camp out in your primary class. Your teachings were and still are the best! I learned so much from your class you are a great teacher. Then working and being with your daughter Deb was a great and fun time, we really enjoyed it, you raised a wonderful daughter They say, a chapter in someone’s life, in your case a novel, because you have done sooooo much for the Payne family not just mine but ALL! Love You forever Willard Williams
