Condolence: Thinking of you Mike, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Millie always made me smile and laugh. She was the brightest spot in the room.

Condolence: I wanted to extend my sympathies to Millie's family, but mostly I wanted to say, I am happy she got to go "home" to her Heavenly Father. She was my friend and my mentor. I loved her and her spunk. She had many talents, one of which was making the children love her because she loved them. I will miss her. I send my love to her family.

Condolence: I'll really miss my Aunt Mildred. The las time I saw her the end of July she was really slowing down. I had just seen her in June, and she was happy and spry. That day I will remember for a long time. I was giving her a hug good by, and I slipped right off of my walker, or it slipped right under me and i fell to the floor. There were several elderly ladies there, including Aunt Mildred, and they were very concerned about me. But of course I just laugh and picked myself up.
What I want to remember most about Aunt Mildred was all the times we would go to the dump on her day off and find the most exquisite treasures. She would bring home other peoples junk and fix it up for us to play on. I especially remember the teeter totter very go round. That was lots of fun. And I remember canning with Aunt Mildred, wedding her garden and especially eating the delicious vegetables from her garden. I Love You Aunt Mildred. I guess you finally get to meet Sherwin.

Condolence: Aunt Mildred:

What a wonderful person you are! You were there for me and our family in all my life, a very unselfish person who helped all of us. You are one great missionary for the whole family..

It started for me when I was very young and Easter Sunday when we stayed at your home in Alamosa. We woke up to an Easter basket, something I had never seen before.
Then later on in our life my sister, brother and I were placed in foster homes and an orphanage for some time, in another city and we went through heck! When you found where we were you came and took us out of there! Being the strong person you are you just took us, sitting on the court house steps until you got us out of there. To this day I can not remember how we got here. You took my sister in, Aunt Clara took my brother and Aunt Floss took me. After a short time your sister, my Mother, got to have all of us together again. That was strange! We hadn’t seen each other for some time and had to get to know each other again.
Later on I was in the Sunday school presidency and we visited different classes. I would always make it a point to camp out in your primary class. Your teachings were and still are the best! I learned so much from your class you are a great teacher.
Then working and being with your daughter Deb was a great and fun time, we really enjoyed it, you raised a wonderful daughter
They say, a chapter in someone’s life, in your case a novel, because you have done sooooo much for the Payne family not just mine but ALL!

Love You forever

Condolence: Condolences to the family in the passing of Mildred, "Shorty" Martin. She was my Sunday School teacher for many years and was spunky and colorful in everything she did. Long after those years passed, she never failed to greet me, hug me and make me feel like her best friend in the whole world. I will always remember her fondly and know that she is in heaven greeting all who knew her, and many who didn't, with her same cute smile and friendly ways. God bless you!

Condolence: I am happy to have called Millie my friend for many years. As I visited Businesses each Thursday during my working years...I enjoyed being able to visit with Millie. The visits were always filled with laughs.

She touched the lives of many people. Some were touched through her business and many others were touched through her many years of teaching Sunday School.

I know Millie is very happy to be reunited with Debbie. The rest of us left behind have many good memories.
