The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Leland Firestone can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Treasured cousin

What a true blessing to have you and Lee in our treasure chest of memories.  Lee and I grew up together in Dalhart, Tx riding our bicycles and laughing all the way.  Time passed, Lee to the USAF and I to the US Army.  Soon, our paths crossed again at the inception of a lodge in Bear Creek, Co.  At the physical start of construction, Lee, myself and others, pushed large boulders into an area to be called the indoor fireplace. From there Lee took off with his saws, hammers, drills and measuring tapes to construct a beautiful, very livable lodge just a stones throw from the Conejos River.  I got to help, as a gofer, for Lee on 3 0r 4 summers.  Lee always included God and the lighter side  of life during the work day.  Mary and I will always cherish the days spent with LeGene and Lee at the beautiful lodge, full of antiques, in Colorado and at our home in Amarillo.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        What beautiful memories LeGene.  We Love You                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Mary and Arlin
