Obituary

Lifetime San Luis Valley resident Wilma Jackson, 96, passed away at home on Monday February 3rd, 2020. Wilma was born on October 23rd, 1923 to Edward and Emily Christensen in Manassa, CO. Nephi Kelland and Wilma were married on October 1st, 1952 and had eight children. She spent her life as a teacher and homemaker. Wilma was never afraid of finding projects and crafts to do.

Wilma was proceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Emily; husband Nephi Kelland; her son Edward Kelland; and her five bothers Dean, Winslow, Elwin, Alfred, and Donald.

She is survived by seven children Bryant (Shuko) Jackson of Rock Hill, SC, Emmalee (Steve) Sorensen of La Jara, CO, Lou Jane (Chester) Rodgers of Bountiful, UT, David (Glenda) of La Jara, CO, William (Renee) Jackson of Saratoga Springs, UT, Lannette (Wayne) Nielson of Manti, UT, and Gayle (Jeanne) Jackson of Greenwood, IN; along with 36 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 8th, 2020 at 11 am at the Manassa Stake Center with a visitation before from 10 to 10:45. A visitation will be held on Friday February 7th, 2020 from 6-9 pm at the Manassa Stake Center. Burial will follow at the Manassa Cemetery.

Thinking of my cousins today. What a wonderful mother you have. I remember our trips to Colorado and staying at your home. Your mother was key to why those times were so enjoyable and I admired her greatly
