Obituary for Walter Jose Salazar

Walter Jose Salazar
Alamosa – Lifetime San Luis Valley resident Walter Jose Salazar, 68, passed away in his home on July 18, 2016. Walter was born on April 6, 1948 in the small town of San Antonio, Colorado to Pedro and Reyesitas Martinez Salazar. He married Patricia Lindsey and spent many happy years together until her unfortunate passing.

Walter had a love for life and it never failed to show. His hands were always busy working on cars, or anything else with a motor just to make sure it was clean and working properly. He also loved being out in nature trying to catch the next big fish or just enjoying the scenery while talking to his family. The most important thing to Walter was his family. He loved his kids and grandkids and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them or show them how much they meant to him.

Walter is survived by his two sons, Joseph (Rebecca) Salazar and Shawn Salazar both of Alamosa, Colorado. Five siblings; Marcella Salazar of Alamosa, Colorado, Luissa Ulibarri of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lionel (Vicky) Salazar of Alamosa, Colorado, Herold (Lillian) Salazar of Monte Vista, Colorado, and Orlando (Elizabeth) Salazar of Albuquerque, New Mexico. As well as six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of close friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Salazar; his parents Pedro and Reyesitas Salazar; a great nephew Christopher Salazar, his niece Pearl Salazar, and his great niece Jessica Navares.

Cremation was chosen and entrusted to Rogers Family Mortuary of Alamosa. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. A Memorial Mass will also be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.
