Obituary for Velma Darlene Kintz

Velma Darlene Kintz, 90, died October 4, 2013 at the Rio Grande Inn Nursing Home in La Jara.
Velma was born November 21, 1922 in Pleasanton, Iowa to Siebert Stuteville and Leah (Johnston) Stuteville. She married Virgil Ora Kintz on November 8, 1941 in Princeton, Missouri and they were married 45 years until his death in 1987. Velma and Virgil moved to the San Luis Valley in 1954. They lived in Monte Vista for a time and moved to Del Norte in 1967. Velma attended and was a member of the New Life Fellowship in Del Norte. In 2007, she moved to Sanford, Colorado to live with her eldest son Ron and Ruth Kintz who provided tender loving care for her until she required a more intense level of care at which time she transferred to the Rio Grande Inn in La Jara.
She is survived by her children Ron (Ruth) Kintz and Don Kintz, all of Sanford, Martha Talbott of Aurora, CO, Steve (Janice) Kintz of Lakeland, FL, Mary Wake of Center and Lori Welch of Aurora, CO; her sister Loretta Stuteville of Indianola, IA; as well as thirteen grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of friends and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Thelma Houston, her granddaughter Shawncee Martinez and her daughter-in-law Clara Kintz.
Velma will be missed by her family and loved ones here on earth, but she is now with other loved ones along with her Lord and Savior. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the New Life Fellowship Church in Del Norte. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow services in the Del Norte Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the New Life Fellowship Church and may be made in care of Rogers Family Mortuary, 404 Morris St., Monte Vista, CO 81144.
