Teresa Valdez, age 61, of Sanford passed away Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 at San Luis Valley Health Conejos County Hospital.

She was the daughter of Juan and Clofes Valdez. Teresa married Manuel Martinez in 1997 and spent 18 years happily by his side. She worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for many years and took great pride in helping others. She cherished spending time with her kids and family. Enjoyed working in the garden, cooking and baking. She loved to laugh and will be remembered as a happy and caring person.

Survivors include, her husband Manuel Martinez, her children, Larry (Renee) Silva and Bernadine (Gilbert Romero) Sandoval, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, her siblings, Willie (Cece) Valdez, Clorinda Martinez, Precilla Vigil as well as all of her extended loving family, The Romeros and Silvas.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Faustine Valdez and Leroy Valdez as well as her sisters, Tillie Montoya, Lucille Salazar and Rosemary Romero.
