Obituary for Saramae Beth Scheibe

La Jara – Longtime valley resident Saramae Beth Scheibe, 73, passed away on May 19, 2015 in La Jara. She was born on January 20, 1942 in Monte Vista, Colorado to George and Florence Martha Woodward Myers.
Saramae graduated from Adams State College with a degree in education. She taught in Capulin and Sanford following her graduation. After her teaching career ended, she was a consultant for Avon in the valley. She married Guy “Don” Scheibe on June 14, 1963 and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Provo Temple on April 20, 1983. Saramae was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed growing flowers, especially sweet peas, cooking and loved to hike. She also cherished her time with all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Guy “Don” Scheibe of La Jara, her children, D. Scott Scheibe of Phoenix, Arizona, Rhona Louise (Steve) Hanley of Maricopa, Arizona, Erica Diane Scheibe of Johnstown, Colorado, Mary Elizabeth (Bryan) Rhoades of Englewood, Colorado and Alan Dean (Lisa) Scheibe of Sanford, Colorado, as well as her grandchildren Kimberly Scheibe, Meghan Wright, Naomi Scheibe, Sierra Scheibe, Victoria Scheibe, Alyssa Scheibe, Elizabeth Rhoades, Emily Rhoades, Hailey Rhoades and her siblings, Marylee Myers of Fountain, Colorado and Lester (Jerri) Myers of Englewood, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler Johnson, her siblings, Dorothy Myers, George S. Myers, Jr., Virginia Davis and Jerrold D. “Jerry” Myers.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at the La Jara 2nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM also at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow services in the La Jara Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the church Missionary Fund and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
