Obituary for Ruth Cantu

Ojo Caliente, N.M.-Ruth Cantu, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 12, 2013. She was born February 28, 1933 in La Petaca, New Mexico.
Ruth enjoyed NBA basketball especially the Utah Jazz and the Denver Nuggets. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved to reminisce about the old days.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with family and was a very loving, caring and giving person. She will be deeply missed by all. To many she will always be remembered as Aunt Ruth.
She is survived by her children Donald (Clara) Cantu of Manassa, Colorado, Carla (John) Mangrum and Thelma (Jerry) Ratz all from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Benette Cantu and Phyllis Cantu both from Albuquerque, New Mexico, her grandchildren Jared and Dana Valdez, John and Andy Mangrum, Ben Ratz, Jonathan Albrand and Joseph Leyba, her faithful companion Taz a miniature Doberman, as well as her brothers and sisters: Theresa, Rudy, Vangie, Salome, Theodita; numerous extended family members and friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Benito Cantu and her granddaughter Melissa Albrand.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Assembly of God Church in Antonito with interment following in the Los Cerritos Cemetery.
