Well known Monte Vista resident Ronald Lee Crowther, 52, died July 10, 2016 near Monte Vista.
Ronald was born in La Jara, Colorado on January 21, 1964, the youngest son of Willard Franklin and Glendine Jackson Crowther. He married Lynette Andrea Mondragon on September 4, 1990 in Sanford, Colorado. They have enjoyed more than 25 years together.

Prior to Ron’s first job, he served an 18-month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. Throughout the years, he has served in many different callings in the church.

Ron worked as a Farmer for more than 30 years and raised potatoes and barley. He loved riding his motorcycle around the farm to check the crops and equipment. Along with photography, and woodworking, his most recent hobby was flying his drone. He was an avid outdoorsman.
Ron was a very supportive husband and loving father. He and his wife especially loved attending their daughters' school activities and sports. His grandson Kasyn, who he affectionately called his “little man”, was the apple of his eye.

Ronald was the County President of the Rio Grande County Farm Bureau, was a member of the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee and the Monte Vista Potato Growers Cooperative.

He is survived by his wife Lynette Crowther of Monte Vista; his girls Wendi (Joel) Polkowske, Kimberly Crowther, Jessica Crowther, and KaDee Crowther, all of Monte Vista; his grandson Kasyn Polkowske of Monte Vista; his parents-in-law Onesimo Jr. and Eva Mondragon of La Jara; his brothers and sisters Franklin (Darla) Crowther of Vernal, UT, Glena (Mike) Mitchell of Monte Vista, CO, Samuel Crowther of Sanford, CO, Kaylene (Russell) Miller of Cedar Rapids, IA, David (Jane) Crowther of Sanford, CO and St. George, UT, and Tim (Sharon) Crowther of Sanford, CO; as well as numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents and his two nephews, Donald and Drew Crowther.
A visitation with his family will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Rogers Family Mortuary, 404 Morris Street, Monte Vista. A Funeral Service will be held a 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Rio Grande Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Monte Vista. Interment will follow services in the Sanford Cemetery.
