Obituary for Robert Ira "Bob" Francis

Robert Ira Francis, 81 of Monte Vista, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his home in Monte Vista. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 30, 1933 to Ira and Helen (Llewelyn) Francis.

Robert (Bob) served in the army working on tanks and came home to work as a mechanic. Treasured memories were fishing and hunting, although he wasn’t always the biggest fan of the horses. His heart was to be in church and making sure his kids were with him. Bob was husband and best friend to wife Lorine Francis for 58 years. He was a devoted father of Irene & Maurice Gibson, Albert & Katrina Francis, Bonnie & Ed Gylling, Cindy & Bubby Morgan, Lorrita & Cory Vance. Pa Bear, as he was known by many was a grandpa to 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Bob is survived by one sister, several nephews, nieces and many brother and sister in laws.

Husband, Dad, Grandpa, thank you, we love you we will see you later. There will be a viewing held at the Rogers Family Mortuary, 205 State Avenue in Alamosa, on Friday November 21st between 5 and 7 P.M. Funeral services will be held at The Feed Store Church on Saturday, November 22 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service with the Army Honor Guard, at the San Luis Valley Cemetery in Monte Vista. Contributions are suggested to the Feed Store Church in his memory.
