Obituary for Richard Kent "Dick" Wagoner

Richard Kent Wagoner passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. He was born on June 13, 1939 in Manassa, Colorado to Marveen McKinney and Virgil Wagoner.
Dick worked in construction and roofing most of his life and enjoyed working with his hands. His hobbies included leathercraft and building beautiful and unusual birdhouses. He was also talented at constructing rock formation ornaments which many people displayed in their yards. He loved music, fishing, hunting, reading, laughing at a good joke on occasion, bingo, family dinners, and football (especially the Denver Broncos). He could also make a tasty batch of green chile, which he enjoyed sharing with everyone.
He is survived by his children Vicki (Howard) Rheingans of Monte Vista; David (Nancy) Wagoner of Pueblo; Ralph Wagoner, Gary Wagoner, and Sally McDonald of Alamosa, and Donald Wagoner of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; his sister Linda (Ron) Howard of Alamosa, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marveen Ross; grandparents Phillip and Barbara McKinney; brother Larry Wagoner; granddaughter Amber Wagoner; and grandson Bobby Lee Garel.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3rd and Richardson Streets, in Alamosa. Interment at the Manassa Cemetery will be conducted at a later date.
