Longtime Alamosa resident Richard Eugene Parker, 78, passed away at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Pueblo, Colorado on April 16, 2018.

Richard was born in Alamosa, Colorado to Jack and Ollie Coombs Parker on March 23, 1940. On June 18, 1974 he married Clymath Hotz in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Richard worked until his retirement for Alamosa County as an Equipment Operator, serving 25 years. He enjoyed ranching and raising animals, hunting and fishing and keeping up with his flower and vegetable gardens. In his spare time he could be found out and about taking drives and seeing the countryside. One of his favorite times was watching the Crane migration near Monte Vista.

Richard is survived by his wife Clymath Parker of Alamosa; his children Vicki (Howard) Rheingans of Monte Vista, David (Nancy) Wagoner of Pueblo, Ralph Wagoner of Alamosa, Gary Wagoner of Alamosa, Sally McDonald of Alamosa, Donald Wagoner of Arkansas, Karl (Martina) Parker of Montana, Edward (Pam) Parker of Idaho, Jeff (Chris) Parker of Denver, and Ginger (Jack) Geiser of Utah; his nephew Lawrence Parker of Alamosa; as well as 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Bobbi Jean Stockham and his brother Jack Parker.

Cremation was chosen and a Graveside of Ashes Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Alamosa Cemetery.
