Richard "Dick" Davidson
La Jara resident Richard “Dick” Keyes Davidson, 79, passed away on July 25, 2018 at the Rio Grande Inn in La Jara. He was born February 20, 1939 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Barbara King Keyes and Samuel LaFayette Davidson Jr. III. He married Janet Horton on May 24, 1986 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Albuquerque LDS Temple.

Dick worked as a Banker and later retired from SLVDRG. Dick was a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association and was a Silver Beaver and Eagle Scout with gold palm. He served on numerous committees and boards both in Roswell, NM and in Colorado. Dick was in the National Guard for over 8 years and attended the New Mexico Military Institute. He was a dedicated Rotary member and had over 22 years of perfect attendance. He was a co-chairman of the La Jara Rotary Club 4-H Buyers Pool which he enjoyed. Dick enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting and was also an avid hobby woodworker, junk and antiques collector.

Dick loved his family. He is survived by his wife Janet; his son Richard “Rick” Fayette (Pam), and stepson Ryan (Annelee) Crawford. Also surviving are his granddaughter Nakole and step-grandsons Ruger, Gatlen and Traceyn.

He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Mike.

Visitations will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa and Saturday morning from 9:00-9:45am in the Relief Society Room at the LDS church in La Jara. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the La Jara First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow services in the Fox Creek Cemetery. Contributions in his memory are suggested to the Rotary Junior 4-H Livestock at P.O. Box 145 in La Jara, Colorado 81140.
