Obituary for Oran Roy Maupin

Romeo resident Oran Roy Maupin, 81, died December 21, 2012 at the Conejos County Hospital.
Oran was born November 22, 1931 in Tres Piedras, New Mexico the son of June and Mildred McGinnis Maupin. He married Mona Layton on June 24, 1954 in Taos, New Mexico.
Oran worked for many years in construction and as a farmer and rancher raising hay and cattle. As a hobby he loved riding horses and roping.
Oran is survived by his wife Mona Maupin of Romeo; his daughter JoAnn (Butch) Kane of Manzanola, CO; his grandchildren: Kristi Roe of Manzanola, CO and Tyra Kane of Texas; his sisters Carole Gozart of Las Vegas, Nevada and Sharon Daugherty; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents and brothers Wayne and Ronnie Maupin preceded him in death.
A Graveside Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Tres Piedras Cemetery in Tres Piedras, New Mexico.
