Obituary for Nancy Elizabeth Christensen

Blanca – Nancy Elizabeth Christensen, 77, passed away at her home under Hospice care on July 10, 2013.
She was born on November 5, 1935 in Trenton, Missouri to James P. Hatfield and Thelma “Margurite” Cox Hatfield. She was a school teacher in Alamosa for 26 years teaching kindergarten at Boyd and art and music at Polston. Many of her former students still reminisce about the field trip to the Blanca farm. Nancy enjoyed gardening and was a musician and loved to go dancing.
Nancy is survived by her husband, John Carl Christensen of Blanca, her children; Eric (Jean) Christensen of Alamosa, Jim (Kathy) Christensen of Blanca and Bryan (Virginia) Christensen of Monte Vista, along with 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one sister Susan Ham of Riverside, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Judy Blair.
Cremation was selected, to honor her wishes a dance will be held at a later time in Creede, Colorado. The family has put together a Youtube video in honor of her, the video may be viewed on Youtube.com and type into the search bar Nancy Christensen Memorial. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the John Zay Guesthouse (A hospitality residence for patients receiving treatment at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.) and may be made in care of the funeral home office
