Obituary for Milo Tony Torres

Lakewood, CO- Surrounded by his loved ones, Milo Tony Torres passed away at his home in Lakewood, on Wednesday, October 29th, 2014 at the age of 93. He passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him.
Milo was born January 20th, 1921 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Carolina Torres and Fred Torres.
As a young man, he worked on the family farm, which was located in Capulin, Colorado. It was there where he met the love of his life, Marie (Mary) Antoinette Malouff. Mary and Milo were joined in marriage, December 28th 1942. They were married for 68 beautiful years and loved each other immensely.
He was a skillful man that put forth maximum effort in all aspects of life. He was a pillar of strength and courage who taught others how to be strong when facing adversity. His deep faith in God and loving heart inspired us all. Family was everything to Milo and he would do anything to make them happy. He will be greatly missed and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Torres, and his son, Milo Torres Jr. Survivors include his eight children: two daughters, Veronica and Loretta, and six sons Andrew, Larry, Leonard, Donald, Jerry and Steve. Milo was a loving husband of 68 years, a wonderful brother to 10 siblings, Julia, Emma, Andrew, Louise, Jake, Gilbert, Arthur, Raymond, Mel, and Phyllis. Father of nine children, grandfather of 22 children, and great-grandfather of 34 children.
There will be a Recitation of the Rosary at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Capulin, CO at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 3rd, 2014. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Capulin, CO at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014. Interment will follow services in the Capulin Cemetery.
