Obituary for Mary L. Martinez

Monte Vista resident Mary L. Martinez, 99, went home October 21, 2014 at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa.
Mary was born in Seven Mile Plaza to Juan and Vera Espinosa Lujan. She married Fermin Martinez in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Mary was a homemaker and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were her life. She enjoyed cooking and had a big heart and always had a love of others.
She is survived by her children Louise (Don) Petross of Alamosa, Angie Chacon of Alamosa and Jina (James) Keller of Monte Vista; her two special great-grandchildren Jared Keller and Josh Keller; her grandchildren Mike Chacon, Kimberly Munoz, Alfred Petross, Eileen (Luis) Trujillo, Donna Petross, Tawnya Lujan, Mona Lujan, Matt Lujan, Joe Garcia, Vince Garcia, Jeff Garcia her Great-grandchildren Alfred Petross Jr, Raphael Cereceres, Roglio Cereceres, Adrian Chacon, Jace Chacon, Luis Trujillo Jr, Joshua Trujillo, Deseree Garcia, and Katie Garcia ; as well as her brother John Lujan of La Jara; her sister Matilda Velasquez of Washington State; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children Marianne Garcia, Sandra Lujan, Vincent Martinez and David Martinez, her son-in-law Yondi Chacon, her granddaughter Roxanne Garcia her brothers and sisters Helen Gonzales, Billy Archuleta, Janice, Marty Wiseman, Ada Garcia, Della Santisteven, Toby Lujan, Ben Lujan, Art Lujan and Ted Lujan.
Cremation was chosen and private family services will be held.
