Manassa resident Mary Genevieve Gallegos-Trujillo, 50, died February 28, 2016 at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was a wonderful and loving wife, mom, sister and friend.

Mary was born in La Jara, Colorado the daughter of Arturo and Genevieve Garcia Gallegos. She married Bonnie Trujillo on May 18, 2011 in Manassa, CO.

Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She liked chatting with friends and family. She was a good cook and made tamales, tortillas and cakes. In her spare time she enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Mary loved music and especially oldies.

She is survived by her husband Bonnie Trujillo, Sr. of Manassa; her son Bonnie G. Trujillo, Jr. of Manassa; her adopted son Roger Holland of Manassa; her brothers Art (Christy Bailey) Gallegos of Manassa and Rocky Gallegos of Alamosa; numerous nieces and nephews; her sisters-in-law Anna Trujillo of Alamosa and Josie Stokely of Pueblo, CO; her aunts and uncles Martha, Chris, Pilar, Sandra and Fred; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Arturo, her uncle Manuel Garcia, father-in-law Albert Trujillo and sister Vivian Valdez.

A Visitation will be held at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Friday, March 4, 2016 in the Primary Room at the Manassa Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Friday, March 4, 2016 also at the Manassa Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow services in the Los Cerritos Cemetery in Manassa.
