Obituary for Maria Rosabelle Martinez (Maestas)
Maria “Rose” Rosabelle Martinez, 71, passed away in Denver, Colorado on September 27, 2018. She was born on December 28, 1946 to Alfonso and Fabiola Maestas in Mora, New Mexico. She married the love of her life, Jose “Joe” Ramon Martinez, in 1961.
Rose worked hard for most of her life taking care of others as a home care provider. Even though caring for others was her job most of her life, still her favorite thing to do is take care of her family. She will always be remembered as an amazing cook and baker. She always had family gatherings and made sure not a single person would leave hungry. When she had time, she loved spending time in her garden, or sewing away while watching the cooking channel. She was definition of being kind and beautiful and has left a spot in the hearts of all her loved ones that will be hard to fill.
Rose is survived by her children; Raymond (Araceli) Martinez of Monte Vista, Jeffrey (Dolores) Martinez of Las Vegas, Nevada, Patrick (Traci) Martinez of Del Norte and Lester (Diane) Martinez of Monte Vista, twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Her siblings, Mabel Mondragon, Joe Maestes, Virginia Fernandez, and Edwin Maestes. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends that were considered family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose “Joe” Ramon Martinez. Her parents Alfonso and Fabiola Maestas. And her grandchild Shawnase Martinez.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista, on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 7:00P.M. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 5, 2018 also at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Monte Vista.
