Obituary for Luis Dominguez Mayo

Longtime Romeo resident Luis Dominguez Mayo, 68, died January 25, 2015 at his home in Romeo, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Luis was born in Carbajal de LaLegua, Spain on January 2, 1947, one of eight children of Luis Mayo Alvarez and Ludivina Dominguez Cadenas. He married Caroline Pacheco at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Conejos in 1974.
Luis was a Carpenter and worked for many years in Construction, he built many things throughout his working career. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, woodworking, sheep herding and making jewelry. One of his favorite past-time activities was gardening. He had a green thumb and could grow almost anything.
Luis is survived by his wife Caroline Mayo of Romeo; his children Charlotte (Richard Jarosz) Mayo of Denver, Rose Mayo of Phoenix, AZ, Luis (Loretta Hunter) Mayo, Jr., of Romeo, CO, Carmen (Augustine Sanchez) Soto of Manassa and Carla Coss of Denver; his brothers and sisters Juan Carlos Mayo, Luisa Mayo, Mariluz Mayo, Alfredo Mayo, Rosamaria Mayo and Carmela Mayo, all of Spain; as well as 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law Johnny Pacheco and his mother-in-law Carmen Pacheco.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29th and a Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday January 30th, both at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Manassa. Interment will follow services in the New Conejos Los Cerritos Cemetery.
