Obituary for Lloyd William Cargill

Lloyd “Hobo” W. Cargill, 93, of Monte Vista, Colorado has gone to his Heavenly Home, to be with his family and friends on September 18, 2018. He was born in Union, Maine on August 14, 1925, the son of Robert Z. and Inez (Miller) Cargill. Lloyd honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served on the USS Pursuit AGS-17. Lloyd married Margaret “Hoboett II” Schroeder in Monte Vista on June 19, 1993. Lloyd and Margaret truly enjoyed their many square dancing adventures and the friends they made along the way. He was a life member of the P.C.S.A. (Patrol Craft Association), a life member of the American Legion and also of the Veterans of Foreign War.

Lloyd is survived by his wife Margaret Cargill of Monte Vista, son, Kim B. Cargill of California, his nieces; Bessie Dow, Cheryl Pratt, Elizabeth Byrns and Barbara Bradley all of Maine, his nephews; Carl Robert Cargill of Maine and Gordon Cargill of Alabama, as well as several great nieces and nephews who reside in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana and Maine. He will be greatly missed by his friends in Union, Maine.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Monte Vista Cemetery. To express condolences, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com.
