Laura Ruth  Clark (Williams)
Longtime valley resident Laura Ruth Clark, 89, passed away at the Monte Vista Estates nursing facility on March 15, 2016.

Ruth was born to William Joseph Williams and Electa Pearl (Stigers) Williams in Stonington, Colorado on February 18, 1927.

After graduating from the Monte Vista High School in 1944, Ruth attended Business School in Kansas City and worked for Transworld Airlines. She then met Delmar and they were united in marriage in Rio Grande County in 1945. Ruth worked for the Monte Vista and Rio Grande Canal Company as a Bookkeeper and Office Manager and would work until her retirement in 2004, after 55 years.

In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and quilting and made many items for family and friends. She loved her grandchildren dearly and catered to them in every way possible. Ruth was a member of the Monte Vista United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children Nona (Kenneth) VanIwarden of Monte Vista, Robert (Connie) Clark of Monte Vista and Lynette Freel of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren: Christy (Monty) Smith, Fritz Virgil Clark, Justin (Kelli) Clark, Jeremy (Bridget) Clark, Tandy Freel and Blair (Brian) Lopez; her great-grandchildren: Luke Jones, Trey Jones, Jesse Clark, Matthew Clark, Aiden Clark, Brooklyn Clark, Jessee Rose Clark, Joseph Lopez and Alex Lopez; her sister Barbara Pearl Williams Ross of Denver, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters Martha Joan Williams and Gladys Geraldine Timmons and her brother Robert Alan Williams.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Monte Vista United Methodist Church. Interment will follow services in the Monte Vista Cemetery. Contributions in her memory are suggested to the Monte Vista United Methodist Church.
