Obituary for Larry Dean Wornick

Well known Hooper resident Larry Dean Wornick, 67, passed away at his home in Hooper April 3, 2014.
Larry was born in Troup, Texas on November 11, 1946, the son of Roy Henry and Grace Beatrice (Lamb) Wornick. He married his wife of more than 33 years, Wanda Jean Beiriger on June 6, 1980 in Del Norte, Colorado.
Larry worked for more than 15 years as a DJ on the radio. He was very skilled and loved working on cars, spending time in the outdoors and fishing. His favorite music artist was Elvis Presley. He spent many hours babysitting and spending time with his grandkids.
Larry is survived by his wife Wanda Wornick of Hooper; his children Teresa (Virgil) Thompson of Alvarado, TX, Beverly Wornick of Terrell, TX, Deanna (Jeremy) Rogers of Midlothian, TX, Selina (Joe) Wornick-Lopez of Hooper and Amber (Raul) Najera of Hooper; as well as 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Mary and Beatrice, his brother Leroy and his nephew Allen Bates.
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Hooper Baptist Church. Contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home office.
