Obituary for Kevin James Garcia
Alamosa resident Kevin James Garcia, 32, died February 8, 2013 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center.
Kevin was born on May 14, 1980 in Denver, Colorado to George Garcia and Rachel Maez.
Kevin worked for Coors in Alamosa as a Truck Driver and in Sales. He loved music and dancing. He had a good sense of humor and often enjoyed picking on his sisters. Above all, he loved his children.
Kevin is survived by his parents Rachel Maez of Alamosa and George Garcia of California; his children Jayda and Shaun Garcia of Alamosa; his step-father Alonzo Espinoza, Jr. of Sanford; his maternal grandmother Priscilla Maez of Capulin; his sisters Melanie (Todd) Lucero of La Jara and Kristi Espinoza of Alamosa; his special uncle that raised him and whom he referred to as “Dad” Anthony Maez of Denver; his godchildren Jordan Lucero, Sharron and Abraham Sandoval; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and extended family members.
His paternal grandparents, his maternal grandfather Lorenzo Maez, his cousins Joshua Maez and Carlos Parra and his uncle Clifford Sandoval preceded him in death.
A Visitation will be held Monday, February 11, 2013 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. At the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa, followed by a Vigil with Recitation of the Rosary 7:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 12th also at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin. Committal services will follow in the Capulin Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Kevin Garcia Memorial Fund and may be made at the funeral home office
