Obituary for Karen Splettstoesser

Rutherford, New Jersey resident and former San Luis Valley resident Karen Jean Splettstoesser, 50, died September 30, 2013 in Passaic City, New Jersey.
Karen was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 25, 1963, the daughter to Dr. Robert W. Splettstoesser and Joan (Russell) Splettstoesser. She married Marco Pagador on August 13, 2010 in Union City, New Jersey.
Karen was working toward her Criminal Justice degree and would have graduated this month. She was an intellectual and loved reading and learning all that she could. In her spare time she enjoyed exercise and walking. One of her most favorite pastimes was shopping.
Karen is survived by her husband Marco Pagador of New Jersey; her children Bridget (Jeremy) Clark of Monte Vista, Nicki (Nathon) Philbern of South Fork, Hassan Safieddine of Boulder, CO, and Fadl Safieddine of Denver, CO; her grandchildren Brooklyn, Aiden, Ethan, Emily, Avery, Alli and Lea; as well as her great-aunt Gloria Russell of Chicago, IL and her faithful dog and companion Frieda.
Karen is preceded in death by her father Dr. Bob Splettstoesser, her mother Joan, her brother Alan Splettstoesser, her paternal grandparents Irvin and Frieda Splettstoesser and her maternal grandmother Jennie Russell.
A Private Graveside Service was held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the San Luis Valley Cemetery in Monte Vista.
