Obituary for Jose Cruz Rios-Hernandez

Center resident Jose Cruz Rios-Hernandez, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family the evening of May 29th at his home in Center under Hospice care.
Jose was born in Antonio Amaro, Durango, Mexico to Joaquin Rios and Jovita Hernandez. He married Maria Soledad Rios Simental and they enjoyed many years together. She preceded him in death March 17, 2012.
Jose worked for many years as a Farmer in Mexico, growing mostly corn and beans. He loved his work and was known as a very outgoing and happy person. In his later years he liked watching television and listening to music.
He is survived by his children Raquel Macias of Mexico, Rosa Maria Simental of Mexico, Martha Lobato of Center, Maria Louisa Rios of Dallas, TX, Ruben Rios of Dallas, TX, Jose Cruz Rios of Dallas, TX, Rebeca Torres of Center, CO, Raul Rios of Dallas, TX and Martha Erica Dominguez of Center; his sister Oliva Rios; his close grandchildren Joaquin Dominguez, Miguel Rios, Ismael Vasquez, Juan Carlos Vasquez, Marisol Dominguez and Joel Torres; as well as numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
His parents, his wife, his daughter Lucilla Rios and his brothers and sisters Manual Rios, Beatrice Rios, Maria Rios and Antonio Rios all preceded him in death.
A Visitation will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Rogers Family Mortuary, 404 Morris Street in Monte Vista. Jose will be buried in the Antonio Amaro Cemetery in Mexico.
