Obituary for John Jeffrey Blevins

Alamosa resident John Jeffrey “Jeff” Blevins, 51, died August 28, 2015 at his home in Alamosa.
Jeff was born in Alamosa on December 3, 1963 the son of Billy J. Blevins and Eloise Dady Blevins.
Jeff served in the United States Navy for a time, and was honorably discharged. Following his time in the military, he worked in Denver then moved back to the valley where he worked for a few years as an Associate for K-Mart and then as a Baker for Safeway. Most recently Jeff started a tree trimming business with Willie Witt, but due to health concerns was unable to continue in this venture.
In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed electronics and computers and was a history and educational buff, which made him very good at trivia games. When he could, he enjoyed searching for arrowheads. He also had a fondness for animals, especially his cat.
Jeff is survived by his mother Eloise Blevins of Alamosa; his children Ryan Blevins and Lane (Justine Sanchez) Blevins of Alamosa; his sisters Janet (Lonnie) Bowman of Basehor, KS and Janiene (Jeff) Arellanes of Lakewood, CO; his half-sisters Becky Blevins of Colorado Springs and Jennifer (Scott) Kelleher of Alamosa; his grandchildren Rylan and Jaelynn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Alamosa Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at a later date in the Alamosa Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Alamosa Presbyterian Church or Donna K. Ditmore, in care of Alpha Humane Organization.
