Obituary for James Harold Wiseman

James Harold Wiseman was born November 21, 1936 to Howard William and Violet Hensley Wiseman in Colorado Springs, CO. He died July 1, 2014 at the Centre at Lincoln in Parker, CO. following complications from a fractured hip. The Wiseman family became residents of the Bowen community in 1936. Jim attended school in Monte Vista and graduated from Monte Vista High School with the class of 1958. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years. He returned to the Bowen area and became a farmer after his father raising Coors Moravian barley and alfalfa. He continued to farm in the Bowen community for the next twenty five years.
Jim married the love of his life, Carol Fay Seyfried on July 24, 1965, and they were blessed with two children. In 1992 they purchased their home just west of Del Norte, and Jim worked as a crop adjuster for the USDA Farm Service Agency. He also worked part-time at the Wolf-Creek Ski Area. Jim was active with the freemasons and was Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Monte Vista. His declining health forced he and Carol to move to a lower altitude and warmer climate in 2012.
Jim is survived by his son, David (Collette Susman) Wiseman of Westminister, CO., His daughter, Julie (Doug) Fitzgerald, of Monument, CO. grandchildren,Tyler Wiseman and Natasha Wiseman, of Denver. Kailei Hutzenbuhler of Monument, Amanda Smith of Cheyenne, Wyoming , Ruairi Susman of Westminister, CO. and great- granddaughter, Alieah Smith of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Also surviving are his sisters, Dorothy Keith of Monte Vista and Judy Dix of Alamosa, brother-in-law, Charles Seyfried of California, sister-in-law, Pat Riggenbach of Monte Vista, sister-in-law, Georgia Wiseman of California and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jim in death are his wife, Carol his parents, Howard and Violet Wiseman, his sister, Vera Riggenbach, his brother Howard Wiseman, Jr. his in-laws, Verl and Virginia Seyfried
Funeral services will be at the First Methodist Church in Monte Vista, CO. on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 9:00A.M. followed by burial of ashes in the Del Norte Cemetery.
