Obituary for James R. Sherman

James R Sherman passed away at his home on March 12, 2013. James was born in Grand Junction, Colorado. He graduated from Aspen High School and enlisted in the Air Force. James lived most of his life in Dodge City Kansas with his beloved wife Bertha. James was a kind and caring person who had a great sense of humor.
James was a die hard Broncos fan and loved watching the Broncos with his family. He enjoyed playing bingo and pool with his friends at the Senior Citizens Center and at Totten Manor. He owned a friendly, funny yellow and gray Cockatiel bird named Frankie who was his baby.
James was preceded in death by his loving wife Bertha, his parents Robert, Patricia (Bernard), and brother-in-law Tom.
James is survived by 2 sisters Wendy (Julian) and Christy, 2 nieces Julianne and Lauren, 4 nephews Michael (Danielle), Richard, Eric and Cody, and 2 great nieces Jayden and Sarye as well as 2 great nephews Marques and Michael Jr.
The family would like to thank the people who cared for him daily: Mary, Isabel, Margie, Shannon, Tammy, and Melissa. Also thanks to all who cared for him as a friend.
Cremation was selected and a memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 19th at the Alamosa Senior Citizens Center. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Alamosa Senior Citizens Center and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
