Obituary for James G. Roberts

Monte Vista – Longtime Monte Vista resident James G. Roberts, Jr., 89, passed away on December 9, 2012. He was born in Center, Colorado on May 10, 1923 to James and Ottelia Roberts. James worked as an engineer for the Federal Soil Conservation Service until his retirement. He was a Past Master and member of Monte Vista Masonic Lodge #73, the southern Consistory of the Scottish rite and the Bethlehem chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Leola Roberts of Monte Vista, daughter, Nancy L. Roberts of Lafayette, Colorado, son, Edward J. Roberts of Monte Vista, grandson Michael J. Roberts of Lafayette, Colorado, one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Stanton L. Roberts. Cremation was selected and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 12, 2013 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista. Contributions are suggested to the Monte Vista Masonic scholarship fund or to the charity of your choice and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
