Obituary for Irene Ruth Mott (Maddox)

Irene Ruth Mott, 92, passed away Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa Colorado.

Irene was born April 22nd, 1923 in Alamosa, Colorado the daughter of Alva Maddux and Pearl D'Avignon. Irene married Louis E. Mott in February of 1948. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1949.

Irene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings. She was also involved in the Carmel Women’s Club for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, tending to her flowers, cooking and above all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sister Ester Rich of Columbia, Tennessee, her brother James (Nina) Maddux of Phoenix, Arizona, her sisters-in-law Wilma Horton and Jewell Fox, Brother in Law Gary Mott as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis and her son Wesley Mott.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at the Sanford Cemetery.
