Obituary for Harold Robinson

Sanford resident Harold Robinson, 75, died at his home on September 16, 2014.
Harold was born October 14, 1938 in Blanket, Texas to his mother Juanita Holcomb and was raised by his grandmother. He married his wife of 53 years, Linda Beth Coursey, in Fort Worth Texas on June 10, 1961. They had 3 children whom they happily raised together.
Harold loved spending time with his family. When the children were younger, weekends were for family time spent hunting for arrowheads, camping and going on “rock hunts” with the Geology club. Family was precious to Harold. He was an active member of the United Church of La Jara where he volunteered on the Governing Board as well as working with a community service program (The Blister Fellowship) working with several area Presbyterian churches making home repairs for community members.
He served in the U.S. Army and proudly worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Los Alamos National Laboratories for 33 years where he was a Staff Member.
Harold is survived by his wife Linda Robinson of Sanford; his children Kathy Shannon of Denver, CO, Gary (Deb) Robinson of Albuquerque, NM, his grandchildren, Andrew and Theo Robinson, Kimberly and Kyle Liebenberg, Ryan and Kayman Kwok, Jay, Gavyn, and Elijah Smith; his sisters in law, Janice (Bill) Barrow, Sue (Joe) Wallace and Deborah Morgan; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Alberta Holcomb; parents, Herbert and Juanita Morrison; his daughter, Karen Smith; and his Son in Law, Richard Shannon.
A visitation will be held at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa on Friday, September 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. The Funeral service will be held for Harold at the United Church of La Jara on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow immediately at Sanford Cemetery. The family will receive guests at their home for a reception following. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Blister Fellowship at Alamosa Presbyterian Church, PO Box 111, Alamosa, CO 81101.
