Obituary for Glenn C. Faucette

Alamosa – Longtime Alamosa resident Glenn C. Faucette, 72, passed away on May 4, 2014. He was born on March 25, 1942 in Alamosa, Colorado to Francis Allen Faucette and Cora Millie Crowther Faucette.

Glenn grew up in Sanford and attended Sanford high school. Following graduation, he pursued his love of service to others and went on to attend Barber School. On February 25, 1962 in Monte Vista, Colorado Glenn married Barbara Ann Harmon. He was a past member of the Alamosa International Order of Oddfellows. Glenn enjoyed fishing and camping, watching the sunset over the San Luis Valley, he would read his Bible daily and always had a joke to share with his family or his customers. He was a barber for 55 years and during that time had made many lasting friendships; he never forgot to call his family and even some of his customers on their birthdays to let them know he was thinking of them.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Faucette of Alamosa, his children; Allan (Diane) Faucette of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Larry (Nancy) Faucette of Las Vegas, Nevada, Glenna (Denise Vezina) Faucette of Aurora, Colorado, and Lisa Vialpando of Denver, Colorado, his grandchildren; Shannon Faucette, Allan Faucette, Tyler Faucette, Haley Faucette, Austin Bowers Faucette, Jared Bowers Faucette, Jeffrey Vialpando, Jessica Vialpando and Donovan Vialpando, his great grandchildren; Brian Broyles, Flint McLaughin, Alexandria Faucette and Alexia Salazar, his brothers and sisters; Dixon (Pat) Faucette of Kearny, Arizona, Walter (Connie) Faucette of Hurricane, Utah, Phil (Ginger) Faucette of Kearny, Arizona, Paul (Elaine) Faucette of Sanford, Colorado, Kelly (Sharon) Faucette of Puyallup, Washington, David (Carolyn) Faucette of Sanford, Colorado, Floyd (Roberta) Faucette of Paradise, Utah and Cora Ruth (Tom) Caldon of San Acacio, Colorado, as well as his wife’s siblings; Gary and Diane Stone of Eckert, Colorado, Marvin and LeAnn Harmon of Alamosa and Brian and Jonna Meuer of Alamosa as well as numerous nieces, nephews and his many beloved customers.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Myron Faucette and his wife’s parents Ewin and Alice Harmon.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday May 9, 2014 at the Sanford 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday May 8, 2014 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa as well as from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to services on Friday. Interment will follow in the Sanford Cemetery.
