Obituary for Floyd William "Bill" Patten

La Jara – Floyd William “Bill” Patten, 98, departed this life April 8, 2013. He was a life long farmer and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Bill was born March 2, 1915 in Bird City, Kansas to Emmet and Mary Ellen Patten. He was one of fourteen children.
One sister survives him, Annie Bishop of Cour de Alene, Idaho. Also surviving are his children Marion Wilson of La Jara, Betty (Max) Barr of Romeo, William Lewis (Stephanie) Patten of Charlotte, North Carolina, Patricia (Joe) Powell of Bayfield, Colorado, Elaine Harcrow of Bayfield, Colorado and Kenneth Roy (Shelley) Patten of Juneau, Alaska, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill chose cremation and the family will gather with family and friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday April 20, 2013 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Inurnment will follow the gathering at the San Luis Valley Cemetery in Monte Vista. Contributions are suggested to the La Jara 2nd Ward Missionary Fund and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
