Obituary for Ernest R. Bundridge

Ernest R. Bundridge
Longtime Moffat resident Ernie Bundridge, 66, passed away at his home in Moffat December 17, 2016.

Ernie was born in Milan, Missouri on May 22, 1950, the proud son of Beyrl Bundridge and Virgie Hollon Bundridge.

Ernest went by a few names, Ernie, ER and “Pork” as he was affectionately known by some. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and being up in the mountains. He was kind and very loving and would help out anyone in need and would give the shirt of his back. Ernest raised two daughters alone and did a wonderful job raising them. He was a great dad and mom combo. Ernie started out in Missouri working different jobs until moving his family to Colorado. After moving to Colorado he became a farm hand for a local farmer and eventually found the Saguache County Landfill Attendant position, and loved his job. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Villa Grove Fire Department and in time became Fire Chief. He retired from both and was enjoying his retirement by his above hobbies and visiting his daughters and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Christina (Todd) Dean of Alamosa, CO and Melynie (Ray) Mix (Bundridge) of La Jara; his grandchildren Melissa, Esteban, Lisa, JC and Joslyn; his sisters Marge Rardon of Milan, Missouri and Donna Caberera of Moberly, Missouri; his brother Billy Keith (Beth) Bundridge of Kansas City, Missouri; his sister-in-law Connie Bundridge of Gladstone, Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Ernie is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jesse Bundridge, his brother-in-law Cork Rardon, and his good friend Steve Bagley.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 1:00-5:00 pm. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the KV Estates Clubhouse in Moffat.

Rogers Family Mortuary of Alamosa is in care of the arrangements. Online condolences, remarks and tributes may be left for Ernie’s family by visiting his obituary at www.RogersFunerals.com
