Obituary for Eddie Lynn Clayton

Longtime Hooper resident Eddie L. Clayton, 64, died January 12, 2013 at his home in Hooper.
Eddie was born in Snyder, Texas the son to Cyril and Lela Mae Williams Clayton. He married D. Chloe Freel on January 21, 1969 and they enjoyed thirty-six years together prior to her death January 12, 2005.
Eddie moved to Colorado in 1962 and Graduated from the Mountain Valley High School in 1966. He was involved for nearly all his working life with the Baca Refuge and the Baca Grant. Eddie also farmed and ranched near Hooper, raising alfalfa, grain, and cattle.
In his younger years, Eddie enjoyed trapping, metal detecting and arrowhead hunting.
He is survived by his children Henry “Rusty” Dobson of Moffat, Billie (Paul) Kerrick of Mosca, Charles Dobson of Moffat, Rodney (Lori Jean) Clayton of Hooper, and Brant Clayton of Hooper; five grandchildren: Clint Kerrick, Kristin Lane, Shari Caldon, Kaylyn Edwards and Riley Clayton; as well as his brother and sisters Carson (Betty) Clayton of Colorado City, TX, Glenda Stagner of Salida and Judy (Robert) Bunker of Moffat; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
His parents and his wife preceded him in death.
A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Rito Alto Cemetery in Moffat.
