Donald Carl  Jansen
Donald Carl Jansen, 91, born August 14, 1926, a South Fork, Colorado resident, passed away on July 18, 2018 in Del Norte, Colorado. He was born to Carl Jansen and Meryl Carson in Sacramento, California and married Roberta “Bobbie” Houk, the love of his life, at the Lobo Overlook at Wolf Creek Pass on July 12, 1987.

Donald is survived by his wife Bobbie, his children David and Margaret, and his grandchildren, Vanessa, Janet, and JT. Donald served in the second World War as a Gunnery Instructor where he learned to love teaching. Donald became a Teacher and High School Principal and retired as an Administrator of Adult Education. He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed his ranch life. Donald enjoyed horseback riding in the mountains, camping, fishing, playing cards, and irrigating his beautiful pasture.

Cremation has been selected by the family entrusted to Rogers Family mortuary in Alamosa with a service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions have been asked to go to High Valley Community Center in care of Rogers Family Mortuary Funeral Home.
