Obituary for Devon J Doyle

Alamosa resident Devon J Doyle, 21, died May 16, 2015 in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia.

Devon was born on May 1, 1994 in Alamosa to Brian and Leslie Doyle. He graduated from the Alamosa High School in 2012 and joined the United States Navy in September the same year. During his time in the Navy he was stationed on the USS Farragut and travelled all over the world, seeing many different countries, including Portugal, Spain, the Eastern United States Coast including the Keys, and many other ports of call. He loved serving his country and was a very proud American.

Devon’s smile with his dimples was unforgettable and he had a great sense of humor. He had the gift of being able brighten any room and turn any situation into something funny and positive. In his spare time he could be found outdoors riding motorcycles, camping, hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family watching movies, playing video games, listening to music and singing. He really enjoyed time spent with his friends, both here and in the Navy. While in High School Devon was really athletic and enjoyed playing sports of any kind. He was also a life member of the NRA.

He is survived by his parents Brian and Leslie Doyle of Alamosa; his sisters Ashley (Jose) Gonzalez of Provo, UT, Kalin Doyle and Alison Doyle , both of Alamosa; his nephews Carson and Cade Gonzalez; his maternal grandparents Larry and Kathy Owens of Alamosa and Sheryl and Wayne Farley of Rio Rancho, NM; his paternal grandparents Renee and Brad Wilcox of Alamosa; his paternal great-grandparents Pete and Ernestine Martinez of La Jara; his maternal great-grandmother Norma Stamps of Alamosa; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of extended family and friends.

Devon is preceded in death by his grandfather Charles Arlen Doyle on March 19, 2015.
