Condolence: Anne, It's Jake and Sal from Creede... We were saddened to learn of Mac's passing, but didn't hear the news until three weeks later. I tried to figure out how to contact you to no avail, so I was glad to find this place to offer our condolences. The McFadden family, as well as countless friends, lost not only a war hero, but an incredible irreplaceable man who was in inspiration to me from the first time we met! I'm going to miss Mac and his smile and we're so sorry for your loss. Love, Sal

Condolence: Mac was always ready to help and encourage our geologic activities in the Valley, whether it was aiding us with contacts, sharing ideas, digging up old data, or going along on flyovers or out somewhere to kick rocks (often in one of his Corvairs). A stop in Alamosa just wasn't complete without a visit to Mac and Dottie at their home. Mac was a good friend, a good geologist, and a fine man. I'll miss you, Mac!

Condolence: There is never a way to fill that hole, the absence of our loved ones. But I think that Ann said it best when she called me. She said, "I have some bad news and some good news. Dad (Mac) died on Thanksgiving day, but he didn't really suffer long and now he is with his Lord!" How wonderful that many of the family were there to say goodbye! Hopefully, you all can find the same peace and joy that he is now having. Love to you all!

Condolence: My sincerest heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Mac. Mac was one of the nicest people I have known. I had an immediate connection with Mac since I first met him since he reminded me of my father. I greatly enjoyed seeing Mac and Anne at our monthly advisory committee meetings for the rulemaking on the Well Use Rules for the Valley. It was truly an inspiration to see him there since he went through this whole ordeal the first time around in the 1970s when he was Division Engineer. I was so grateful he could be part of the process this time around.

I will miss you dear friend but I will always cherish all the many great memories. It is said that the true tomb of the dead is in the hearts of the living. My heart is full of fond memories. We are all so blessed to have known you. Thank you.

Condolence: Sincerely wishing Peace & Comfort to Mac’s family & friends. His presence at the weekly veterans’ coffee was always welcome. He loved cocoa in his coffee & chocolate cookies at every opportunity. One of my favorite stories he told was of his needing to memorize the eye chart to join the Army in WWII. And he kept a twinkle in those eyes to the end. Even tho’ his singing in the quartet was long ago, he nonetheless continued to sing his song of Love, Appreciation & Gratitude for all. Mac will certainly be missed here.
