Obituary for Cordelia G. Chacon

Monte Vista – Lifetime Alamosa resident Cordelia Chacon, 90, passed away on January 4, 2014 at the Juniper Village at Monte Vista.
She was born on August 5, 1923 to Edward and Fidela Gonzales in Alamosa, Colorado. Cordelia attended school in Alamosa. She married Fred B. Chacon in Taos, New Mexico on September 9, 1944. Cordelia was a member of the Alamosa Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, and reading and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and watching the Broncos.
Cordelia is survived by her children; Sandra (Shell) Watt of Bennett, Colorado, Randy (Sara) Chacon of Phoenix, Arizona and Carl (Betsy) Chacon of Alamosa, Colorado, her grandchildren; Brian Chavez of Denver, Co, Adrian (Renae) Chavez of Alamosa, Anthony Chacon, Reggie (Samantha) Chacon, R.C. Chacon all of Phoenix, Arizona, Nadine (Richard Williams of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Joshua Chacon of Chicago, Illinois, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as her siblings; Dorothy (Frank) Romero of Alamosa, Edward Gonzales of Pueblo and Priscilla Chacon of Alamosa as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Larry Dennis Chacon as well as 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Cremation was selected and a private family service will be held at a later time.
