Obituary for Cathy Sanchez

.La Jara – La Jara resident Cathy Marie Sanchez, 56, passed away on July 19, 2014 under the care of Hospice and surrounded by her family.
Cathy was born on May 7, 1958 in Seattle, Washington to Norval and June Cavett. She married Neil Sanchez on November 20, 2006 in Payette, Idaho. Cathy enjoyed researching and learning about her Kootenai and Salish Native American heritage. She enjoyed reading, riding her horses, was a great swimmer and had a deep love for helping people make healthy food choices by promoting whole foods. For many years people were greeted by her beautiful smile at the Valley Food Co-op.
She is survived by her husband Neil Sanchez of La Jara, her step children, Guy, Katie and Paul Sanchez, her sisters, Lannie Sanders of Bend, Oregon, and Sue Baldwin of California, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended families.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation was selected and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday July 26, 2014 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Contributions are suggested to Hospice Del Valle and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
