Obituary for Carol Faye Wiseman

Carol Faye Wiseman, 70, passed away at her home in Denver, Colorado on Thursday, January 3, 2013. She was born on December 24, 1942 in Monte Vista to Verl and Virginia Seyfried. She married James (Jim) Harold Wiseman on July 24, 1965 in Monte Vista. Carol worked with her husband on their farm until 1992, but most residents in the Valley will remember Carol and her sister-in-law Judy Dix as “the cake ladies”. They owned and operated CJ's Elegant Cakes for many years in the 70s and 80s, decorating hundreds of wedding cakes for brides across the San Luis Valley. Carol was very actively involved in the First United Methodist Church in Monte Vista as well as The Order of Eastern Star, Bethlehem Chapter #56 in Monte Vista. Carol and Jim moved to Denver in November of 2012. Carol is survived by her husband, her daughter and son-in-law Julie and Doug Fitzgerald of Monument, her son and daughter-in-law, David Wiseman and Collette Susman of Westminster. Also surviving are 4 granddaughters, Kailei Hutzenbuhler of Colorado Springs, Amanda Smith of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Natasha Wiseman and Ruairi Susman both of Westminster and one grandson, Tyler Wiseman of Westminster. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10 am at the First United Methodist Church in Monte Vista. A private interment for the family will be held later in the spring at the Del Norte Cemetery.
