Obituary for Bruce J Dyer

Longtime Sanford cowboy Bruce J Dyer, 63, died November 28, 2013 at his home in Sanford.
Bruce was born in Alamosa, Colorado the son of James Leland and Louise Mortensen Dyer on September 17, 1950.
He was a cowboy and rancher, raising horses and mostly cattle near Sanford. Bruce competed in many Team Roping and Ranch Rodeos. He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys play football. Bruce was also an avid golfer.
His most favorite times were spent with his children and grandchildren and especially at Christmas time. He enjoyed the mountains of Colorado. Everywhere Bruce traveled he made many friends.
Bruce is survived by his children Ryan (Autumn) Dyer of Sanford, Dewey (Lacy) Dyer of Channing, Texas, Kacey (Steven) Mortensen of Sanford, Gil Dyer of Alamosa and Stacey Coleman of Checotah, OK; his grandchildren Lane J, Landon, Slade, Abby, Grant, Koda, Nona Louise, Joshua, Jay Riley and Mason; his sisters and brother Lorraine Larsen of Sanford, Connie Jean Dyer of Sanford, Brent (Darlee) Dyer of Smithfield, UT; as well as his faithful dog Lou, his horse Tonto and a host of extended cousins, family and friends.
His parents, his brother Gil Dyer, his nephew Blaine Larsen; his granddaughter Lacey Dyer, and one of his favorite horses “Hank” all preceded him in death.
A visitation will be held from 12:00-12:45 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 both at the Sanford Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow services in the Sanford Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House in Colorado Springs in his memory and may be made through the funeral home office.
