Obituary for Bessie Larane Knight

Bessie Larane Knight, 84

Bessie Larane Knight, Monte Vista resident, passed away on August 20, 2018. She was born July 17, 1934 to John Albert Knight and Vivian Estelle DePriest Knight. She was the third child and oldest daughter.

Bessie enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, sewing, painting by number taking care of her babies (dolls) and taking care of her mother and their home. Bessie loved to read books and study scriptures. She wrote in a journal every day and recorded the weather, the activities she did and then drew pictures of the weather for the day and then colored them. She was a very happy, energetic lady that enjoyed teasing her family and friends and listening to music.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vivian Knight, brothers Jimmie Knight and Samuel Knight as well and her loving sister Lucy Jane Knight and brother-in-law Ivan Johnson. She is survived by Wilma Flores, Shirley Johnson and Jolene (Richard) Dutton as well as many nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends Georgia and Angie.

A viewing will be held Wednesday July 22, 2018 at 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista. A graveside service will be held at the Sanford Cemetery on Thursday July 23, 2018 at 10:00 am. Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista is in care of arrangements.
