Obituary for Abel Alexandro Archuleta

Monte Vista resident Abel Archuleta, 70 departed this life September 16, 2014 at the family home.
Abel was born on November 28, 1943 to Jacob and Catalina (Vigil) Archuleta in Monte Vista, CO
He was a retired farm laborer/mechanic. His hobbies were woodworking, drawing, gardening, but most of all spending time with his loving family and friends.
Abel is survived by four children: Annabelle Valdez of Pittsburgh, PA; Michelle (Julio) Pando, Alex (Keysha) Archuleta, Jason (Sheila) Archuleta all from Grand Junction, CO; Mother of his children Elizabeth Atencio Archuleta of Grand Junction, CO; Penny Gallegos (long-time friend) of Monte Vista, CO. 17 Grandchildren, 3great-grandchildren, 3 Brothers and 6 sisters: Rebecca (Pimenio) Leon; Jake (Josephina) Archuleta of Alamosa, CO; Romain Archuleta of Colorado Springs, CO; Elsie Padilla of Alamosa, CO; Manuel (Sabina) Archuleta of Monte Vista, CO; Mary (Ralph) Garcia of Monte Vista, CO; Georgia (Tom) Allen of Denver, CO; Tony (Jeannie) Archuleta of North Dakota; Gloria Archuleta of Phoenix, AZ as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was proceeded in death by parents; siblings: Maria Archuleta, Mary Archuleta Linda Archuleta, Juan Archuleta, Juan Arturo Archuleta; Nephews Randy Archuleta, Juan Archuleta, and Grandson Jacob Abel Valdez.
Abel was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The Archuleta Family would like to thank Hospe De Valle for their care.
There will be a viewing held on Sunday September 21, 2014 3:00 pm-4:00 pm at Rogers Funeral Home Monte Vista, CO. Rosary Monday September 22, 2014 7:00 pm. St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish Monte Vista, CO. Funeral Mass Tuesday September 23, 2014 10:00am St. Josephs Catholic Parish, Monte Vista, CO. Interment Monte Vista Cemetery.
