Obituary for Betty Ruth Martin

Valley resident Betty Ruth Martin, said goodbye to this world and entered into eternal rewards prepared for her in Heaven on March 19, 2018. She was born on March 15, 1932 in Decatur, Texas to Emily Davis Wright and Jack Wright. Betty loved Jesus, family, Texas, cowboys, babies and a very clean house. She married Frank “Rowdy” Turner Martin in Dimmitt, Texas on June 2, 1950.

Her legacy of Godliness, cleanliness, love and amazing chocolate chip cookies lives on in the hearts of her surviving children, Shirley (Bobby) Whiteman of Monte Vista, Colorado, Sandra (Calvin Jr.) Rose of Canon City, Colorado, Frank (Shelly) Martin Jr. of Gunnison, Colorado, her daughter-in-law Carolyn Martin of Boise City, Oklahoma, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and numerous other family.

She was met at the gates by her parents, Jack and Emily Wright, her beloved husband of 59 years, Frank “Rowdy” Martin, her oldest daughter Beverly Jean “Jeannie” Lorenz, youngest son, William Lewis “Jack” Martin, great granddaughter Ava Rae Rose and many, many more.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday March 31, 2018 at the Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas. Where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Contributions are suggested to the charity of your choice and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
