Nanette Thomas: Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, friend was born March 15, 1980 in La Jara Colorado. The third of sixchildren born to Charles Anthony and Rhonda Arlene Thomas, passed from this earthly life unexpectedly on September 4, 2021. Nanette grew up in Manassa, Colorado on the family ranch where many fun memories were made with her parents and siblings. She graduated from Centauri High School in 1998. After graduation, she became her father's "right hand man," something she always bragged about. She was stronger than most men both physically and with her personality. One could always count on Nanette for a good laugh, often at your own expense. Her great one-liners and infectious laugh filled any room with her presence and made her the life of any gathering she attended. Nanette was always a champion for the underdog, the handicapped, and the downtrodden. She truly was an advocate for those who couldn't stand up for themselves, even if it meant confrontation wherever it was due. If you were a friend of Nanette, you had a friend for life. Family meant everything to Nanette, even through her dark times. She was hands down the "favorite Auntie" to her nieces and nephews. Even though mistakes may have been made during her adult life, she spent the last year she had on earth reaching out to all she could, pleading for forgiveness, and ensuring everyone knew she loved them. She loved fiercely. If she loved you, you knew it. If she didn't, you knew exactly where you stood. Nanette is survived by her parents, Charles and Rhonda Thomas of Manassa. Her siblings, Shannon Thomas Castellano of Aguilar, CO, Brandon (Jamie) of Manassa, Sandy Thomas of LaJara, Joshua (Kelly) of Albuquerque, NM and Ashley Thomas of Spanish Fork, UT. And the gems of her life, her two children, Nathaniel Garcia, San Angelo, TX and Emmalee Ramirez of Alamosa, CO. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces andnephews. A graveside service will be held on September 9, at 11:00 am at the Manassa Romeo Cemetery.
