Thomas Elisario
Jackson
October 13, 1937 – November 13, 2025
Thomas E. Jackson, born on October 13, 1937, in Alamosa, Colorado, to the late Frank and Coste Jackson, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, in La Jara, Colorado. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Thomas's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and faith.
Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and patriotism. After his military service, he became a cherished member of his community, touching lives with his generosity and spirited personality.
Thomas regularly attended rosary and mass every week. His love for his family was the reason he lived an amazing and long life. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing in the serene Colorado waters, trying his luck at the casino, and engaging in spirited card games with friends and family.
Thomas was a culinary enthusiast who delighted in cooking for those he loved. He was known for his homemade jam and a robust homemade wine that was as strong in character as he was. He would bring out the cotton candy machine when all the grandkids were around, and enjoyed making his homemade jerky. Above all, Thomas cherished the time he spent with his family. The moments shared created a tapestry of memories that will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Diane Jackson of Colorado Springs and Yolanda Jackson of Alamosa, Stepdaughter Tamara (Keith) Guzman of Waco; his adored grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Casias, Danielle (Michael) Chacon, Vanessa Mireles, Jose Mireles, Jaidyn Guzman, Xavion Guzman, Jayce Jiron, Kamari Irvin, and Olivia Jackson-Shanks; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Emi, Elli, Mikey, Abri, and Aniyah, who brought immense joy to his later years.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Theresa Jackson, his son Tommy Jackson, and his brothers Wally, Freddy, Billy, and David Jackson. His departure leaves a void in the family that cannot be filled, yet his legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to guide them.
Cremation was performed at Rogers Family Mortuary Crematory and there will be a Memorial Mass on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa, with burial in the Alamosa Cemetery immediately after.
