Sylvia Irene Pearson, formerly of Alamosa and Creede, Colorado, and currently a resident of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on April 10, 1937, in Creede, Colorado, to Benjamin A. Birdsey and Rosalie Marie Birdsey.
Sylvia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth Edward Pearson Sr., on September 9, 1955, in Taos, New Mexico. Together, they built a loving family and shared many wonderful years together.
Sylvia was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in the simple things in life. Her hobbies and interests included arrowhead hunting, fishing, camping, hunting, bingo, and gardening. She especially loved her coffee and enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends.
Sylvia is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Nikelle) Pearson, James (Davine) Durham, and Jeffery (Kimberly) Pearson. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory and legacy forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin A. Birdsey and Rosalie Marie Birdsey; her husband, Kenneth Edward Pearson Sr.; her son, Tommy Lee Pearson; and all seven of her brothers and sisters.
Services for Sylvia will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa, Colorado. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 11:15 a.m. at the Alamosa Municipal Cemetery.
Sylvia will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the many generations of family she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to request that you make a donation to a cancer charity of your choice in honor of Sylvia.
